HUNTER TAFE graduates have guaranteed entry into 29 University of Newcastle degree programs this year.
The arrangement reflects a new era of co-operation between the two institutions, which have been developing a range of Australian-first education partnerships.More than 1100 Hunter TAFE students and graduates have enrolled in Newcastle University programs in the past two years. Programs into which TAFE graduates holding a certificate IV, diploma or advanced diploma will be accepted include the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Teaching. Credit from TAFE study can be used towards entry into a degree program. The two institutions launched a joint-venture program in industrial design late last year where students study at TAFE for three years before moving to university for a final year. The program model is being considered for use in other areas.
